A wedding on the beach is a dream for many brides. And it is worth fulfilling! There are various kinds of beaches, so you have to decide which one is for you – white sand and light blue water for a romantic fairytale beach wedding or a wild beach with big stones and steep banks for a more dramatic backdrop to your beach wedding.

What do you need to know and prepare for if you have decided to plan a wedding at the beach?

Wind and rain

You can never be sure about the weather. Wind and rain can surprise you at the beach on your special day. Besides, sea winds are the strongest. It means that there are some things to pay more attention like the choice of decorations – choose heavy ones and secure them so you can be sure that wind cannot damage wedding decorations.

If your wedding day is soon and weather forecasts are not those you wish for, find the perfect accessories to make the weather work in your favour. What kind of accessories? Transparent or white umbrellas or even raincoats that match your wedding style.

Remember to think about plan B if you plan to get married at the seaside. If every plan breaks and crumbles, don’t worry – you can create amazing wedding photos at the beach also in the wind and rain.

The sun

A sultry summer day when the sand is hot, and there is no fresh breeze, are not the most comfortable conditions to marry at the beach. Choose the morning or the evening with wonderful sunrises and sunsets and make your wedding even more magical! However, if you want to marry in the daytime, provide drinking water and parasols to make your wedding guests comfortable.

When choosing wedding meals and plates, remember that most food melts and spoils in hot weather. Ask for advice from your wedding caterers on which products can be kept in the heat and salty air! The same story about flowers – choose the most durable ones.

The sand

When at the beach, the sand is everywhere. Keep that in mind if you plan a snack table or even a wedding meal on the beach. A great option is to use standing tables to avoid grains of sand on plates.

Dress code

The beach is the place to feel free, so it is not the venue to wear a classical wedding dress. What will suit the groom? Light tones and lightweight fabric will be perfect. A suit without a jacket is an appropriate preference, especially if the wedding day is hot. The bride could wear a bohemian-style dress with lace and flower ornaments, or other flowy, airy fabric dress. Make sure that the clothing is breathable. What about footwear? The beach is almost the only place where it is completely acceptable to come barefoot.
